Hagans Plastics Co., Inc. is a custom thermoformer and injection molder that provides high quality parts while offering first class service for a variety of industries.

The project highlighted here was an electronic enclosure with EMI shielding designed for use in electrical testing. The customer supplied a 2D CAD drawing, and the part went through four complete design changes with small production runs done on each of the designs. When the final design was qualified, injection mold tooling was built with the use of advanced thermoforming equipment. A 5-axis CNC router was also used to provide extensive secondary machining and finishing. With the rigidity and formability of acrylic and the toughness and chemical resistance of PVC, KYDEX® was used to make the part, and a standard finish was applied. State-of-the-art thermoforming and CNC machines were used to achieve the 9.00" by 11.00" by 2.00" dimensions. *This project is an excellent example of how thermoforming can be used for proof a concept.
