Since 1973, Hagans Plastics Co., Inc. has been a leader in the industry providing advanced molding, thermoforming, tooling, design, and related services.
The project highlighted here is a radome, sometimes called a nose cover, for an antenna system used in the telecommunications industry. The customer supplied a 3D model of the antenna system along with a 2D CAD drawing. By assisting with part design and utilizing deep draw thermoforming, a one-piece enclosure was formed.
The part was made from acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and featured a standard finish. Advanced thermoforming equipment was used to create dimensions of 25″ in height with a diameter of 15.5″. The project represents an initial run of 150 pieces delivered in six weeks and was done to ISO 9001 industry standards.
